About . . .
Kanzcyon
In the spring of 2001, Laurie and Larry began entertaining in venues and festivals statewide by merging their extensive musical backgrounds into an eclectic acoustic-style performance. With a vast repertoire that includes a very cool blend of acoustic blues, jazz, classic folk-rock hits, originals and even a little country & bluegrass, they capture the attention of audiences from a broad range of interests and ages. Their talents and experience also reach far beyond the limits of live performance into the areas of jingle production, demo and album production and professional songwriting. In February of 2004 they officially announced their band name, which they feel captures the essence of their music: Kanzcyon.

Larry's outstanding guitar lead work is highly complimentary to Laurie's rhythm and fingerpicking styles (and her occasional escapades with the accordion or mandolin!), from the captivatingly subtle sex appeal of Laurie's renditions of the old jazz ballads, to the tongue-in-cheek humor of Larry's satirical down-home style originals. Their own songwriting is influenced by the variety of styles they enjoy most, with Laurie leaning toward jazz and blues, and Larry prolific in the folk-rock styles of the 70's and the blues.
